Chapter Beginnings

In 1900, when Shepardson College for Women joined with Denison University, the women of local group Chi Psi Delta hoped to start a Theta chapter on the Granville, Ohio, campus. Almost three decades later, Denison lifted its ban against national women’s fraternities, and — in 1929 — Beta Tau Chapter’s charter was granted.

Notable Thetas

From the very beginning, Theta alumnae have distinguished themselves in their careers and their volunteer endeavors. In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields. The archives takes this opportunity to recognize some of our more notable sisters.
