Chapter Beginnings
Students at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, received their charter as Beta Psi Chapter in 1932. McGill, founded in 1821, is one of the oldest universities in North America, and the English-speaking university’s first women students had been admitted in 1884. Beta Psi became the fourth Theta chapter in Canada.

From the very beginning, Theta alumnae have distinguished themselves in their careers and their volunteer endeavors. In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields.
