Epsilon Zeta Nikê Response
In 1848, the University of Mississippi in Oxford was the first public university chartered in the state. The university — one of the first in the South to admit women — was also the first in the South to hire a female faculty member. In the fall of 1978, Epsilon Zeta Chapter became the Fraternity’s first chapter in Mississippi. The university offered a warm “Ole Miss” welcome, despite an unusual snowfall on installation day in early 1979.
