Chapter Beginnings

Dartmouth College, established in 1769, became coeducational in 1972. In 1982, the college invited four women's groups to the campus. A local — CONS — petitioned Theta in late 1981. In February 1982, Epsilon Kappa was installed despite record-low temperatures. Alumnae from all over New England and collegians from Syracuse’s Chi Chapter, Vermont’s Lambda Chapter, and Connecticut’s Gamma Zeta Chapter attended the installation weekend festivities. Epsilon Kappa Chapter left the campus in 1992.

Notable Thetas

From the very beginning, Theta alumnae have distinguished themselves in their careers and their volunteer endeavors. In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields. The archives takes this opportunity to recognize some of our more notable sisters.
