Chapter Beginnings

Zeta Kappa Chapter was installed in 1990 at the University of South Carolina, chartered as South Carolina College in 1801 and with classes beginning in 1805. The school was temporarily closed during the Civil War and served as a Confederate hospital. One hundred and nineteen Thetas were charter members of the chapter. Zeta Kappa Chapter left the campus in 2001.

Notable Thetas

From the very beginning, Theta alumnae have distinguished themselves in their careers and their volunteer endeavors. In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields. The archives takes this opportunity to recognize some of our more notable sisters.
