Chapter Beginnings

The first classes at the College of Idaho were held in 1891, six years before Idaho reached statehood. In the year 2000, local sorority Tri-Theta, founded in the 1960s, already had a 40-year history on the small campus in Caldwell, near Boise, when it affiliated with Kappa Alpha Theta and received its charter as Eta Eta Chapter. The chapter soon became an active participant in establishing a college Panhellenic on campus.

Notable Thetas

From the very beginning, Theta alumnae have distinguished themselves in their careers and their volunteer endeavors. In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields. The archives takes this opportunity to recognize some of our more notable sisters.
