Chapter Beginnings
Eta Nu Chapter was established in 2004 at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. The college’s history began in 1857, when the City of Lake Forest and the college were both conceived by Presbyterian leaders living in Chicago. Apparently the founders considered nineteenth-century Chicago and its population of 28,000 too distracting for focused learning and selected a site 30 miles north, near Lake Michigan, for their new college and community. Eta Nu closed in 2022.

From the very beginning, Theta alumnae have distinguished themselves in their careers and their volunteer endeavors. In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields.
