Chapter Beginnings
In 1912, the charter for Alpha Rho Chapter was granted to a 15-year-old society at the University of South Dakota named TBD. Organized in 1897, TBD was the first social group on campus, and counted 80 active and alumnae members when awarded its Theta charter.
Notable Thetas
From the very beginning, Theta alumnae have distinguished themselves in their careers and their volunteer endeavors. In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields.
