Chapter Beginnings
National fraternities had been banned at Michigan State until 1926, but as soon as the ban was lifted, no time was lost in bringing Kappa Alpha Theta to the East Lansing campus. Sororian, a long-time local society at Michigan State, was granted a Theta charter that very year, becoming Beta Pi Chapter.
Notable Thetas
From the very beginning, Theta alumnae have distinguished themselves in their careers and their volunteer endeavors. In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields.
