Chapter Beginnings
One of two Theta chapters chartered in 1965, Delta Lambda was installed January 23 at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, our first and only chapter in Utah. A severe winter storm almost kept Grand President Virginia “Jinny” Speidel Edwards from reaching Salt Lake City from her home in Cincinnati. She made it, and 45 determined charter members were installed. Delta Lambda Chapter left the campus in 1988.

From the very beginning, Theta alumnae have distinguished themselves in their careers and their volunteer endeavors. In fact, some are so well-known that they’re household names, and many have the distinction of being the first women in their professional fields.
